Lower body gets very ITCHY year round..

I place on baby oil before a shower, use Aveeno body wash, then place baby oil on once again before exiting shower, dab dry..NOT scrub dry, then immediately put on VICKS! Vicks has helped keep the itchiness under control IMMEDIATELY. I never itch with it on. Although, u will feel very cool with it on. I try using a cotton ball instead of straight up hands, or else its hard to wash off..I never put it on my upper body due to it rubbing off accidentally onto my face or eyes :-/

Dry Skin Care Tips

1) The first thing to remember for dry skin is the intake of lots of water per day because the dry skin gets dehydrated easily and for this it is important to give your skin proper amount of water. 2) Skin care is very much necessary according to the environment. If you only knew

I had extremely dry skin for 3 years. I changed laundry soap, and bath soap numerous times. I would get some ease but then my legs with become even more dryer. I scratched my legs till I broke the skin. I could'nt wear shorts or dresses w/o stockings. I went to the dermatology he gave me an ointment. The allergist said I'm allergic to dust mites and gave me pills for the itch. I already replace all carpet in the house with hardwood floors and tile. I replaced curtains windows with nice wooden blinds. My legs began to get some ease but they were still very dry and would still break out. Thank God I found a solution. Put a half cup of oatmeal in a white sock and tie a knot. Put the sock in hot water and boil it for approx 10 mins and pour the pot of water and sock in a bath. Wash with the sock and see the oil from the oatmeal heal your dry skin and legs will stop itching. I use real lemons for the scarring. Rinse the lemon juice. Put on a good moisturizer like Nivea"

Yes - Goats milk powder

I totally agree with Guest Monica's comment about putting milk in the bath. I use powdered goats milk, its fab for dry skin and adds some real luxury to a bath. The great thing about using it is you are left with such wonderfully soft skin, moisturised skin when you get out. You can find bath milks at www.suzisoaps.com dunk them in the bath and all the luxurious goats milk powder seeps out! I love them for my dry skin.

Dry Skin

After trying a range of products for extremely dry skin on my lower left leg caused by a DVT, I found Urea Cream 5%, brand name, Eucerin, to be excellent. It acts by moisturising from the inside - the urea draws water from inside to the skin. It is expensive, around £10 for a small pot (100g), but you can get it on a NHS prescription. For feet, there is a 10% cream, which is also excellent. In addition, it disappears completely, leaving a non-greasy skin texture. I would urge people try this - also I got a sample from the manufacturer - search online for Eucerin and request a sample - as a pharmacist, I can recommend this with 100% confidence, I use it daily, and have no more dry skin. Can walk bare foot on our black kitchen tiles without leaving an marks because it disappears completely.

Moisturizers your skin

In addition to all the other feedback you received can I recommend you use products with out SLS. SLS which can be a strong detergent and found in many soap products. Further I would suggest that you use moisturizing products Hand soaps, Body Wash Shower Gels. etc. After you shower apply a body lotion. Depending on how dry your skin is you may want to consider body butter. Sensible Additions products are all moisturizing and do not contain SLS (sodium laurel sulfate) or Parabens. Even of you don’t care about that kind of stuff if you could find products you like that smell good, feel good and reasonably priced with less chemical additives why would not use them. Try their stuff I think you will like them. www.sensibleaddictions.com.

Aloe is still the best

Everyone knows that when it comes to skin, especially troubled skin, aloe is the best thing to use. I've never experienced dry, itchy skin since using the skin care products from Forever Living Products. They have stabilized aloe vera gel as their principal ingredient. They're just awesome.

Dry Skin

Vaseline! I have VERY sensitive skin on my face, and this does not break me out. It worked when nothing else would.
