This is a soothing face mask and great if you have bananas around the house. It works best on oily skin. Not sure if your skin is oily? Find out for sure in my article, How to Tell If You Have Oily Skin.

Bananas are great for the hair, too. See my Banana & Avocado Deep Conditioning Treatment for Dry Hair recipe.

  • 1 banana, preferably ripe (you can keep ripe bananas in the freezer. Let it thaw before using)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • An orange or a lemon

Mash up the banana, then mix in the honey. For best results, put the ingredients in a blender.
Add a few drops of juice from an orange or a lemon.
Apply to face for 15 minutes before rinsing with a cool washcloth or a steaming warm washcloth. Follow with your regular moisturizer.

Makes your skin so soft!, Member SophieAurora

After reading the great reviews, I decided to try this out and hopefully get the same results! I made mine with half a banana, 2 tbsp honey, orange drops and added 2 teaspoons of greek yoghurt for extra consistency :) I blended mine and it was a bit runny, but not so runny that it dripped off my face. More like a gooey mixture. Got it on my face now and it feels cool, tingly and cleansing, a bit stingy where I have blemishes but according to others this is probably just the mask helping cleanse the most affected areas. It's been about 15 minutes and feels quite dry, gunna go clean it off now, will post results when it's done! Washed my face with warm water and dried it with a towel, and it is sooo soft! Think I left it a bit long because I had to almost scrape some bits off with my nail but it came off eaily enough. My skin has a healthy as opposed to an oily shine, and at first the skin around my blemishes was a bit inflamed but it's gradually going down. My skin doesn't just feel smoother, it looks smoother! Feels a little bit dry but a bit of moisturiser will fix that - would def do it again!
