This classic recipe for dry skin involves only 2 ingredients: avocados and honey which are particularly moisturizing. This mask works well on mature, wrinkled and dry skin (not sure if you have dry skin? Find out for sure in How to Tell If You Have Dry Skin). It's best to use a ripe, fresh, organic avocado. Make sure to mash it up into a creamy pulp.

Avocados are also great for deep conditioning dry hair. See my avocado and banana hair mask recipe.

I recommend using this recipe after applying my brown sugar facial scrub. The simple scrub exfoliates while this face mask moisturizes.

Ingredients:

  • ½ very ripe, soft avocado
  • ¼ cup honey

Preparation:

Mash the avocado in a bowl, then stir in honey.
Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes.
Rinse face with a cool washcloth.

Avocado Face Mask, Member F_Tricia

Today I decided I was going to steam my face and make, for the first time, a home made avocado mask (I read online it could be used alone). I didn't make the avocado creamy enough but was able to rub it in and smooth it on my face. I really enjoy it. I still have it on my face :)...I like the feeling of the mask as it tightens around the skin. I have to go wash it off now...can't wait to feel how baby soft it turns out. I wish the avocado didn't turn brown as i used a whole avocado. I can't keep the remains unless I eat it...which i don't plan on doing. Try the mask...you won't be disappointed.
