Curly hair has a tendency to get big. Avoid the 80s big hair by parting hair on the side and smoothing hair close to the crown. Use a flat paddle brush, not a round brush, to keep hair smooth as you blowdry hair. You can tame naturally wavy or curly hair easily with a curling iron. You can then choose which way you want curls to go. And because your hair is curly, chances are great the look will last the day (on straight-haired girls, curls don't last as well).
