Reese Witherspoon just stepped out onto the red carpet with the most gorgeous bangs (pictured over there to your right) and as she revealed on "The Graham Norton Show," her new bangs are not a beauty statement or a fresh change, they are actually hiding a scar she got last September when she was hit by an 84-year-old driver while she was out for a run in Santa Monica.
I decided to do a bit of investigating and found several photos of Witherspoon back in October with a very discreet bandage on her forehead (see picture here). What I love about this story isn't the new bangs, or that Witherspoon went out and about with her hair pulled back in a ponytail just a month after the incident but that the actress handled the situation with grace. Witherspoon didn't press charges (the driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk), and she didn't go to the press with the story. Instead, months later, she's able to laugh about it.
"I landed right on my head, and I have a scar, hence my new hairdo. I don't remember much about it, but miraculously -- and thank God! -- I am fine," said Witherspoon on the show. "They said I am very hard-headed."
Another reason to love one of America's sweethearts.
