Beauty Trends for October
Beauty is not something that remains constant for very long and I hope to have something to share each month as new trends
are spotted. And, I'm not talking about just in my own backyard but world wide. I now have correspondents in two regions of the
US and one in the UK who will be sending us their thoughts as they spot them in their backyard. We welcome Deb Nichols this month and Victoria Robinson and
Laura Sherwood, to begin next month. If you want to know what is happening before anyone else, watch for our series of
Beauty Trends articles which will be a regular feature here on About Beauty.
In Canada...
- More and more women are becoming comfortable with the body they have and are getting a little tired of comments regarding their size. And, this goes in both directions. It seems that NATURALLY thin women are receiving a lot of flack as well.
- Accessories are making a big splash this month and they are in the burgundy shades.
- Scents that you might like to investigate area little heavier than the summer scents that we have been wearing. You might want to check out Mania, by Georgio, Indecesence by Givenchy and Azzara, or perhaps Lolita Lempicka . And that is just for starters.
- There are a few new moisturizers making their debut this month and they include Dior, Shiseido and Vichy.
- If you are looking for a slightly different look for October, you might want to consider "Luxury Punk." You can check out our fashion guide for the clothes that you will need, but I can help you in the cosmetic area. Lips are vibrant and your eye should glitter. The rule that says, to go either lips OR eyes, doesn't count here. By the way, chanel has a great new glittery shadow. Black eyes and lips are also pretty popular with this new look. And don't forget the black liner on the lips to help hold the color in place!!
The current trend for makeup is mixed actually. Women are going subtle to sheer OR mysterious and sassy. The fragrances are more of the designer type, such as Miss Dior, Red Door, White Diamonds rather than your typical Avon scents. The makeup for the younger (and those trying to look younger) is the subtle shades of tans and browns, but, it seems that the trend is almost 50/50 for the subtles and the bolds. Those who are seemingly either comfortable with themselves or wanting to make a statement are wearing the burgundies, wines, etc.The eye makeup trend is more the sophisticated look than the bold, bright blues and greens. You know, the browns, greys, etc.
Coming Next Month... Victoria Robinson, our UK Correspondent and Laura .... our Northern US Correspondent will be joining us. If you would like to be a Correspondent for your area, simply let me know!!
