Bikini Ready Skin

What do you need to do to get ready for bathing suit weather? Come on, you must do something?

1. Sunscreen and why you need it.

Sunscreen is on the top of my list. Who is it so important? Not only is skin cancer on the rise, who wants to deal with the pain of a burn. And for all of you who are worried about the products making your break out, relax. Look for Neutrogena Visible Even. It has an SPF of 15 and is affordable.

2. Shaving and salt water

I learned this the hard way. Forget the blade and use an electric razor instead. Salt water stings... big time.

3. Exfoliating and self tanners

While self tanners are doing a better job than ever at giving us great looking color, we really must take a few minutes to get rid of all those dead skin cells that are going to hamper the effect. Try dry brushing. Not only does it feel great, it's a quick way to get your skin ready for a summery glow.

4. Dreaded cellulite

First of all, it's hereditary and has nothing to do with weight at all. To help with the problem, eating healthy, drinking lots of water and exercising is going to help. Some women swear by massaging lotions into the area, from the teen years on, has helped. 5. Don't forget the feet

I know that you are probably more concerned with looking great in a bathing suit, spend a few minutes looking at your feet. Are your heels soft and supple, or are they dried out and cracked? What about the cuticles. Have you ever moisturized them... ever? A little polish smeared on isn't going to help and people are going to notice. Get into the habit of massaging a cooling foot lotion into every inch while you are watching television. You won't believe the difference.

6. Acne on the back.

What could be worse? You have exercised and your flat tummy looks great. But then you notice that you have this gigantic blemish on your back. What could ruin the effect faster? So what do you do?

Every time you take a shower, use a back brush to exfoliate your back. When you think about it, the skin on your back gets very little attention. And don't forget the masques that you use on your face. They can be used on your back just as easily. A little attention and you will be amazed at the difference.

7. Use of fragrances

Be careful of the scent that you spritz on. Certain fragrances can contribute to dark spots on the skin. It might be a better idea to skip the fragrance all together when on the beach.
