Updo on the Wild Side

When was the last time you did anything different with your hair? Can you even remember? Unfortunately, a lot of us fall into this category. It is so much easier to wear the same style day in and day out. This week we are looking at the updo, but not just any updo. This is just a little on the wild side.

But what if your hair doesn't want to behave? Here's a little help that can go a long way.

Volumizing Shampoos

This might be something that you would like to look into as well. They work by coating each strand of hair, which obviously would offer instant volume.

*Do You Have a High Forehead?

If so, you might want to look into fringe or bangs to go along with your favorite style. If this is the first time for fringe, trust a stylist to do the cutting for the first time. He can't screw it up, but you certainly could. Trust me, I know!

*Time To Change Your Part

Are you bored with the way you part your hair? Did you know that a center part works for most face shapes.

*Maybe It's You

If you aren't happy with the look of your style after applying hairspray, you might even want to try this. I saw my hair stylist do it and there was absolutely no hard film. He sprayed the air and then waved his hand around so that only a fine mist settled on my hair. It makes sense when you think about it. One shot from the sprayer could hit one area making the area seem brittle. And if you are anything like me, you spray several spots so that you cover all of your hair. Big mistake.

*Do It Right

If you do it correctly, you can blow-dry your hair every day. It is a good idea however, to moisturize your hair on a regular basis and deep condition once a month. The trick is to hold the dryer at least two inches from your hair as you dry and keep the dryer moving.

*Weak Hair

Your hair is most vulnerable when it is wet so it is especially important to be gentle during this time. That means no brushing allowed. Detangle with a wide tooth comb or your fingers.
