Top 6 Easy Ways Not To Stress Out Your Hair From: Ask Jamie

Guide Picks

from JAMIE DELIVERS

This week Jamie discusses how to prevent stress... on your hair.

1) Slow Down

Try not to use hair styling tools on a daily basis. Whenever possible, give you hair a break by allowing it to dry naturally.

2) Blot Don't Rub

Don't rub your hair with a towel to remove moisture. The strands are at their most vulnerable at this point. Soak up the water by blotting your hair.

3) Rinse Well

Be sure to really rinse the shampoo from your scalp. If you have been suffering from an itchy scalp, this could be the reason. Don't be in a rush. When shampooing, be sure to massage your scalp with your fingertips to release trapped oil, dirt and yes, shampoo residue too.

4) Don't Forget

Use clarifying shampoos on a monthly basis. They do a great job of removing product residue from your hair. And we are adding more products to our hair than ever before.

5) Not So Often

Do you really have to shampoo every day? In a pinch, baby powder will soak up excess oil.

6) Using The Wrong Products

If you don't have dry hair, why would you use a shampoo for dry hair. Believe it or not, people don't think twice about using whatever shampoo happens to be available. Use products that are formulated for your hair type.
