Why Your Deodorant May Not be Working

Sunday July 5, 2009
If your deoderant doesn't seem to be working in the summer heat, consider how you're applying it. Never apply deodorant right out of the shower when your skin is moist and warm. The wetness somehow deactivates the active ingredient in deodorants, so it's best to wait until your skin is completely dry.

Isn’t that interesting! I’m glad you shared that little tidbit, Julyne.

Huh? I’m confused. So does that mean that once you sweat and get the deodorant wet, the active ingredient deactivates? Doesn’t that contradict the purpose of deodorant? Or am I just confusing myself? :)

Ok, now I understand why sometimes in summer my deodorant underperforms – it isn’t my hormones after all!! Thanks for that.
