Two Cold Weather Musts: Toe Warmers & Whipped Shea Butter Cream

On a recent trip to Woodstock, Vermont, I fell in love with two products that I couldn't wait to share with you. The first was Heat Treat Toe Warmers.

I bought them in a shoe store because the weather was several degrees below zero, my boots were cold and my toes were minutes away from frostbite (or so I whined). I was skeptical at first, but within seconds of placing the warmers over my wet socks, they began warming my feet so I immediately bought several packs 'just in case.' About 15 minutes later, my feet were completely warm and my socks dry. If you suffer from poor circulation and/or live in very cold climes, you'll love these guys (the company makes hand warmers too). You can find them at REI or buy them here.

Another find I made was the Thistle Bath & Body shop. While I like the idea of homemade soaps, lotions and potions, I rarely find ones I go ga-ga over and have to write about. Owner Kirsten Connor has set up an adorable shop on Woodstock's main drag and the moment I dipped my hand into her whipped shea butter cream, I knew I'd found a keeper. Kirsten says people fall in love with her whipped creams and order them from far and wide. What I like about them is how they penetrate deep into the skin leaving hands soft and supple. The creams come in several fragrances, but I'm partial to lavender. Check the options out here.
