Quick Tip: How to Avoid Hat Head
Saturday December 23, 2006
We've been asked how one can avoid 'hat head' in winter. When it's cold outside, you've got to bundle up but you can do so while also saving your hairstyle. The secret is simple: Never, ever put a hat on over wet or even damp hair. Your hair will not only dry flat, it will dry in THAT position.

i wear hats on a normal day- i.e everyay hair- i.e not with a damp or wet hair and still manage to get a hat head- so what is the solution to that? any suggestions anyone?
I also wear hats all year – both on bad and good hair days. I found that berets work best for me in winter and can be put on around the hair so it doesn’t smash the style as much – and also over ears to keep them warm. Also you can put on a hat and then kind of scrunch the crown of your head (for example) to loosen hair underneath so it’s not so pressed down. Obviously this works for softer hats that are flexible. Otherwise, scarves are a good option in warmer weather and don’t weigh on a style as much as hats – and actually protect your style on windy days. Hope advice from this hat & scarf fan in Amsterdam works for you!
Uhhhh – your boy Walter here has the best advice for you: pick up the Digital Invaders hat at HatHead.com and sit back to watch the honies come crawling. My recommendation is to embrace Hat Head and put a hathead.com hat on that lid that will be attractive all year round. Then the only time you take it off is…..well…..oh baby.
