Guide Review - Finishing Powder
According to the company’s website, Pure Silk Dust “reflects UV radiation and has 18 vital amino acids." This product also contains no mica so it gives a neutral appearance to the skin.
To apply over foundation, use a kabuki brush or dual fiber powder brush. For use under foundation, apply with a flat top brush, powder brush, or flocked sponge, which will minimize the appearance of pores and allow for a more smooth application of foundation.
One con of Pure Silk Powder is that it may leave a white cast on the skin if applied too heavily. I suggest sweeping a fan brush over your face to remove any excess powder.
Pure Silk Powder is offered in two sizes, a 4-gram jar for $6 and a 13.5-gram jar for $12. Only a small amount of product is needed for application, which makes either size jar a great value for the money. Everyday Minerals offers a 60-day 100% money-back guarantee so if you don’t like it, simply return it for a refund (minus shipping charges).
What others have to say about this powder: At the time of this review, 30 users rated Everyday Minerals Pure Silk Powder on Makeupalley.com. It scored 4.4 out of 5 "lippies" and 86% reported they would buy it again. Most women either absolutely loved for how well it set their foundation throughout the day and minimized the appearance of pores. A few women didn’t care for the fact that it left a white cast to their skin. Some complained of a strange odor to the product, which I have never experienced.
