Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil as Overall Body Moisturizer
18 Ingenious Beauty Uses for Average Kitchen Items

My favorite brand of extra virgin coconut oil

If there's one typical kitchen item to move to your bathroom, it's Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. You can use coconut oil in body scrubs, hair masks, milk baths and as a simple moisturizer for face and body. I use coconut oil almost daily on my face and body. It smells like summer, soaks into my dry skin like a serum (which I prefer to creams) and is 100% natural. You can get it from your local grocery store or health food store for about $10, depending on size.

Here are 2 ways I use coconut oil as an overall moisturizer:

The washcloth naturally exfoliates my skin, but you can also add a sprinkle of fine, granulated sugar or brown sugar to the washcloth for added exfoliating powers.
  2. On my body. After a shower, I'll apply coconut oil all over my legs. I then wipe off the excess with a dry towel. I make sure the oil is soaked in before getting into clean sheets or clothes and I never, ever use oils when I wear silk. The stains, the stains.
