So when my 15-year-old friend, Rosemary, came to stay with me for a couple weeks this summer and introduced me to a whole host of nail trends she and her friends are trying, I knew I had to write about them. From nail tattoos (seen here), to rhinestones, from crackle paint to magnetic polish, from newsprint to adhesives, there is so much going on in the world of nails and nail polish, I was able to create an entire slideshow of them.
For example, nail tattoos. I've never been one to paint flowers and such on my nails so when nail decals and tattoos became a trend, I was underwhelmed and thought they were best left to the pre-teen set. Then I discovered Big Rubys Nail Tattoos and they were so darn cute (I mean, check out this picture), I actually considered them for myself.
How they work: you cut out your tattoo of choice, press it on a dry nail, wet the back of the tattoo until it comes off and then paint over the tattoo with a clear top coat.
