While you will consistently find drugstore mascaras, cleansers and moisturizers on your average "Best Beauty Products" lists, you won't find many drugstore blush, bronzer and powders. Why? Luxury powders have been pulverized to such a degree that you can layer and layer without ever looking like a clown, according to Marie Claire beauty editor, Didi Gluck in the November 2006 issue.
Guerlain Terracotta ($45 at Sephora) is the bronzer staple on InStyle's "Best Buy" lists, while Tarte always wins for cheek stains, Nars is the hands down favorite powder blush and Bobbi Brown pot rouge wins for cream blush. M.A.C. Blot is an ever-popular powder favorite.
If you must choose drugstore brands, your best bets are Cover Girl Cheekers Blush (an Allure Magazine Winners Circle 2007 winner) and Neutrogena powders (an InStyle 2007 "Best Buy").
