Homecoming Hair Styles - Blonde Knot
Quick Tip
You have probably seen the results of a hair straightened with a flat iron. Now you can do it yourself with these simple instructions. Once we have flat ironed it, we will concentrate on the style. What You Will Need for This Style:
-a blow dryer that offers between 1200 and 1500 watts and is light enough to hold easily
-a flat iron... I prefer Solona Saphire irons
-sectioning clips
-anti frizz lotion
-tail comb
-fine pins
-favorite hairspray
- While hair is wet you use a frizz control product. This is very important.
- Blow dry hair until hair is 100% dry. You are just removing the moisture, so there is no need to straighten your hair at this point. That comes later.
- You will be virtually following the same steps as you do while blow-drying. Just in case you want to review those steps, here is a link.
*We are about to move onto the use of the flat iron.
- This tool becomes very hot, so take care when using. Once hair is completely dry, draw thin sections of hair through flat iron slowly, but keep the iron moving.
- Comb hair smooth after each draw through of the iron.
- Continue until all of your hair has been straightened.
*Just in case you are wondering if it is really this easy... yes it is, but you might want to practice using your flat iron while it is cold until you get used to the feel and weight of the tool.
- Once hair has been completely straightened, divide hair into two sections. Each section will then be twisted and then gently tied into a knot. For obvious reasons, you will need to secure this style with a lot of pins. There are fine pins on the market that are different from the traditional "bobby pins". The pins that should be used for this style should completely disappear into your hair.
- The final touch should be a light misting of your favorite hairspray so that everything holds for the entire night.
