Teen Costume - Graveyard Fairy

Quick Tip

Costume

Pair this gorgeous costume with a little "deadly" makeup and you are ready to party!? The costume consists of a one piece dress with a jagged hemline. The bodice laces up and is paired with a pair of "glovettes" Now add a pair of detachable wings and you are ready for a little haunting.

This costume can be purchased in its entirety, or you can brainstorm for your own version of a "Graveyard Fairy". How do you do that? Simple... start with a piece of paper and then write down everything that you think of that you could use to create your very own "Graveyard Fairy". What comes to mind?

Complimentary Makeup

As you are appearing as a fairy who haunts the neighborhood graveyard, here is the makeup colors that would compliment the costume.

Foundation: Extremely pale to denote illness or in this case... death. You might even want to add a touch of gray to the foundation. Concealer: not necessary

Shading: Work a touch of blue and purple shadow worked into areas beneath the eye and cheekbones. A touch around the nostrils will contribute to the appearance of a ghostly figure. Be sure not to go overboard with these colors. Remember that you are supposedly dead and as a result you are rather colorless. Greasepaint is generally used, but makeup kits appearing at Halloween should provide you with the colors you need.

Eye Liner: Here is where you get to play with your makeup. At this point, you appear to be rather colorless, with emphasis on your deathly appearance. Using a heavy hand with your liner shows that you haven't given up your love of makeup quite yet!

Eye Brows: Again, brows need to be emphasized. Do a little maintenance and add some color if necessary.

Eye Shadow : I would suggest smudges of hot pink to give the impression of fever.

Blush: None

Lipstick: I would choose an intense blue shade. You should be able to find this color in Halloween makeup kits especially around the Halloween season. Work the blue into the natural lip lines to give the impression of multiple cracks.
