Jaclyn Smith (born October 26, 1945) looks so youthful here it's hard to believe she's almost in her 70s. Her hair is thick and wavy and as long as the average 25-year-old's and what I wanted to know is: "How does she look so awesome at her age?"
Hair is a big part of Smith's career. She hosted seasons 1 and 2 of Shear Genius, the reality TV show about aspiring hairstylists, and she was a hair model early in her career. She has thick curly hair that tends to be dry and not too oily (it would fall flat if it was), so a good cut is key to her look.
Smith says so herself in Woman's Day, "You must understand the texture of your hair before you choose a style. Because if not, you're going to be a slave to it, and who has time? Me, for instance, I have curly hair. With bangs and straight, long hair, I'd be blowing it out all the time."
For her show, Shear Genius, Smith sometimes wore her curly hair straight and with bangs, but she had a styling crew for that. Most days, she wears her hair more natural. If you aren't born with a naturally thick, wavy hair texture, you will spend a lot of time trying to mimic this fullness. You can do it with the help of volumizing spray or mousse, an ionic blow dryer and a curling iron.
Also keep in mind that Smith is past 65 (!!) but looks like she's in her late 40s or early 50s thanks to plastic surgery. If she had a face full of wrinkles, this youthful hairstyle might look odd on her. But her face is lineless and she looks amazing.
