Despite conflicting reports in early April, 2009, that Fawcett was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, Nevius assured the AP that Fawcett was "not at death's door."

"She remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humor. She's been in great shape her whole life and has an incredible resolve and an incredible resilience," said her Dr. Lawrence Piro, on April 6, 2009, to the AP.

"She's on the mend and will be going home very shortly," said her producer, Craig Nevius. "She's doing fantastic. Her fight goes on. ... She's not going anywhere anytime soon."

Fawcett died on June 25, 2009 at age 62.
