Once you have the extensions in, your stylist will need to cut in layers starting at the collarbone. The layers are "cut bluntly and at random, rather than blended, which gives the illusion of thicker hair," says hairstylist Juan Carlos Maciques of the Rita Hazan Salon in New York City, in Allure.
This look works best on women with straight or wavy hair. Maciques says this look works great on women with round and square faces. If you have a long face, add bangs to create the allusion of less face, more hair.
