10 Little Summer Luxuries
Quick Tip
Unfortunately, for most of us, summer does come to an end, but it shouldn't before you work in at least ten little luxuries. And I'm not talking about the normal things that you do every day. I'm talking about luxuries. Here is my list. Feel free to borrow as many as you like, but your goal is to come up with ten of your own. Always remember that a better frame of mind does some wonderful things for wrinkles.
- Watch a parade. Summers usually mean some reason for a parade. I remember one in particular. It was a parade in August in my hometown. Music played a huge part in this parade and one women just couldn't stop herself from getting out of her lawn chair and dancing her little heart out. Happiness just oozed out of her and it was clearly evident that stress wouldn't be causing her any wrinkles that day.
- Find a way to put up a hammock in your backyard and then gently rock away the afternoon.
- Choose a day that works for you and head for the beach. Today you are going to build a sand castle so amazing, it could win a prize.
- Go for a walk in the evening after the sun has gone down and treat yourself to a chocolate ice cream cone.
- Sit yourself down in a lawn chair as twilight descends. There is something magical about this time of day and an event that should definitely be experienced. Everything smells different, sounds different... it really is a magical time of day.
- Visit a park that offers entertainment in a bandshell. There aren't many of them, but when you do find one, you are in for a treat.
- Do you remember fireflies and how magical they used to be when you were little. Sit out on a warm summer evening and see if you can recapture that feeling again.
- Empty the drawers of your dresser and re-line them with scented liner paper.
- Find a reason to eat breakfast a way from home. It might be the little diner a few blocks away, or a little restaurant you always meant to visit.
- Go for a long walk on a conservation trail and spend a little time looking at the wild flowers that you probably haven't paid any attention to in years and years.
