Does Your Swimsuit Really Fit?

Quick Tip

Finding a suit that DOESN'T fit is more common than you might realize, but it needn't be the case. This article suggests some points to consider when shopping for your next swimsuit.

  • The most important piece of advice is to pinpoint your body shape. Once you have that piece of information, the rest is easy.

  • Try on the suit. Stretch, lift your arms, squat, sit and see how the suit holds up. If bits of you are suddenly on show, you have the wrong suit.

  • Is the suit creating bulges? If this seems to be happening, the suit is too small. And don't imagine that if you diet, it will fit. If you lose inches, that is simply a great reason to buy another one.

  • The cut is just as important as the size. Don't choose a bathing suit that you won't feel comfortable in. While thongs are popular, would you be comfortable wearing it?

  • Don't rely on the size stated on the label. Choose one that is the size that you think you are, one that is one size larger and one that is one size smaller. One is bound to fit and it might not be the size you expected.
