Oscars Red Carpet 2009

There's a red carpet rule that you should wear only one piece of strong jewelry. Here, nominee Melissa Leo has gone overboard with bright turquoise earrings, what appears to be a spider necklace and a huge old-fashioned broach. Nothing matches.

As for her hair, the color is gorgeous on her complexion and with the gown, but there was something a little too Sophia Loren circa 1999 about it and Melissa Leo is no Sophia Loren. In fact, I don't know who she is, except she was up for a big award, I think. Oh yeah, Best Actress.
