Q. The Blackhead Tool

A.

Hi Shirley,
I read your notes on removing blackheads. You mention steaming and then using a 'small tool' but don't mention the name of the tool or where it can be found. Can you let me know the details? Thank you very much.

The small tool I'm referring to is made by several companies and available at most drugstores. It is usually made of metal about 4 inches in length and has a small loop at either end. Once the area has been gently steamed, take the blackhead remover between your fingers and press the loop against the skin where the blackhead is located. Apply a small amount of pressure. This should dislodge the blackhead for easy removal.

As the area is prone to blackheads, take special care when cleansing to ensure that they do not take up residence in the future.
