Hot New Trend: False Eyelashes

By Julyne Derrick, About.com

False lashes are very popular these days. You can get permanent individual lashes applied or you can go the old-fashioned full temporary lashes route.

Eyelash extensions, currently Hollywood's latest beauty obsession, must be one in a salon. They can last 2-3 months with touch-ups every 2-3 weeks. The cost, however, is pricey. These treatments are about $300 for the initial treatment, then $50-$100 for each touch-up. For more information, call Twin Magic Lashes (310) 275-1075.

Not interested in the pricey semi-permanent lashes? You can go the much-cheaper route & try your basic false eyelashes which are designed to look as natural as possible. Products we love:

Shu Uemura Feather False Lashes ($20).
M.A.C. also makes a great false lash. Check them out at their stores.
Ardell lashes have been around for 35 years and are a staple in many makeup artists bags. At $3 a strip, they're very affordable.

Here's some more lashes you can buy direct.
