Love Your Hair For Christmas
|
 |
A little background...
You have the new dress and your shoes are perfect. Your nails are a great length and you have practised your makeup a million times.
Finally, you are all set for that big party. You haven't forgotten a thing. But what happens if your hair decides not to co-operate?
Will all your efforts be a waste of time?
Love Your Hair For Christmas
- Choose a shampoo that is formulated for your hair. A good shampoo will actually remoisturise your hair.
- Apply shampoo to the scalp (where it is most greasy, not to ends). The amount is very important. Squeeze a small amount
(the size of a quarter) into your hand.
- Be sure to spend a few minutes massaging your scalp, with a scalp brush or your fingers. (This is also a great time to
clean your combs and brushes.
- A good conditioner untangles hair, smoothes the cuticles and replaces lost moisture.
condition the ends but not the scalp especially if you have oily hair
- Blott hair with towel but no rubbing. Let dry naturally as often as possible.
- Comb thru to detangle
- Have your hair cut every 4 weeks, if it's only the ends. Split ends can ruin long hair faster than anything else.
Special Treatments
- Look for conditioners that contain Pro-Vitamin B5, humecterants and other state of the art ingredients. These
ingredients can actually penetrate the hair shaft and lock in moisture.
- Give your hair a treat by washing it in Evian water for two weeks. You will notice a difference in the condition of your
hair and scalp.
If you like saunas, try applying a nourishing conditioner before you go in. don't forget about our banana conditioner link
in Bananas = Beauty.
Things Not To Do
- Don't wash your hair in a basin (yes, I recently read about a celebrity who did this??)
- Don't overbrush your hair. The hundred strokes that we grew up hearing, was wrong. Your brush
should be used for styling only.
Some Favorites
- The Body Shop's Banana Hair Putty
- I've been using Sheer Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner since my last color (about two months) and absolutely LOVE IT! Usually my color fades within 6 weeks but it still looks great (except for the roots - LOL). I purchased Funky Chunky from the Sheer Blonde line a couple of days ago and am having so much fun with it. It really defines my layer and the ends look much sleeker.
The whole line is very reasonably priced. I bought the products at iBeauty.com but I've seen the at Target as well.
Kelly
- I've mostly always use the Wella line and it works exactly as they say.
There are other products too, like ISO, and Paul Mitchell, but WELLA is my favourite line.
NIARNA
- Suave Lavender Shampoo
