SPRAY HELL
Well, it is isnt it? We all want our hair to stay exactly where we put
it when we left the bathroom that morning. BUT we also want to run our
fingers (or our significant others fingers) through it and not break bones.
And thats a hard order to fill. Those little guys in lab coats are working
on it. In the meantime, here are some definitions that might help you choose
whats best for you.
Ya got aerosol and non-aerosol. Aerosol now offends the ozone layer I know.
The little guys in lab coats at the EPA are working on THAT. Environment
aside, aerosol sprays are the lightest sprays going. Yet they can be very
firm. Aerosol sprays are wonderful working sprays. By that I mean you can
spray your hair and rearrange it and play with it. Its not set in stone
yet. A light aerosol is perfect to use if you flip your hair upside-down
and spray between the layers. Volume plus! This is enough for some people.
Not for me, I have rat hair. So we move on to non-aerosol. Concrete in a
can! Not really, there are light sprays in this genre too. Spritz sprays
are usually tough though. Theyre great for spot work and final spraying.
Hit that pump and use your fingers to pull pieces of your bangs out. Or
smooth your sides back.
Spritzs are good final sprays. Youre done pawing, teasing, or curling
and ready for it to stay. One word of caution. Dont spray this stuff too
close. Theres nothing worse than hair wet with spray. UGH!
I personally use both kinds when I style. A working spray till I get it
where I want it and then a spritz for pain in the butt places and to finish
it off. Its the best plan Ive come up with for my hair.
THE OTHER STUFF
There are new things coming out all the time. One that you might want to check out are called glossers or pomades. Theyre usually creams that have no holding power whatsoever. Thats not their department. They impart shine. One of the side effects of all these gels and mousses and sprays are that they can dull the hair. A tiny bit of pomade or glossifier brings that shiny, healthy look back into your hair. These are also fantastic for hair that tends towards frizz. Theyre meant to be used on hair that is dry, but Ive found that a drop added to gels and mousse works well too. A warning though a little of this stuff goes a loooong way! Most of them have an oil base in their composition. Those little guys are working on some water based ones and Ill pray for them. So there you go! I hope this unscrambled your brain cells a little. And one more thing. There is a product you need to get if you use this kind of stuff on your hair. Its called a Clarifying shampoo. It gets out the stuff you just put in. Shampoos ..Hmmm. Nope! Im not even gonna GO there!

Question of The Week
Is there a way to keep lipstick on my lips and not the tiny cracks above?
Suzie
Hae you tried using a lip lining pencil? It might be just what you are looking for as it contains a waxy
material that will form a barrier! And if that doesn't give you the results you are looking for, how about a
lip sealer!
