Onion Extract Fades Scars

Dateline: 07/12/99

There is hardly a person alive that does not carry a scar of some sort. In fact, there are 90 million Americans living with some sort of scarring on their body. A scar on the knee is common to just about every adult who learned how to ride a bike. Then there are the teens that have experienced severe acne who carry the scars around with them for life. Women having babies have done everything they could think of for generations, to hide stretch marks but to little effect. Nothing has erased them and they have become a part of the pregnancy process. But there are the more severe cases that are caused by fires, wounds, bacteria, fungus, or viruses. They all leave more visible lasting reminders and until now, there has been little that could be done about it. And they can grow even more unattractive due to aging, scar location, and genetics and they have an impact on a person's appearance, self-confidence and can even restrict flexibility.

But recently a greaseless, pleasant smelling gel called Mederma has been manufactured that makes scars appear softer and smoother and there is even a money back guarantee. And the scars needn't be new. This gel can be used on existing scars as well. All you do is apply generously three or four times a day and gently rub into the scar. And what is this miracle gel made from? The interesting ingredient seems to be onion extract.

Patients using this gel have reported color of scars fading to regular skin color and in some cases, totally disappearing after only a few months use. This is definitely something to look into. Mederma user, Sharon Stein quotes, "Today, there is no difference in skin color and now it's like there's nothing there."
