Hitting The Closet
Part Two

Last week I talked about cleaning up our closet, and I thought that I would continue with this thread for another week and tell you how I made out. Thanks to last week's clear out, I tossed

  • two jackets
  • one skirt
  • two dresses
  • three pairs of jeans
  • moved a large number of summer t-shirts and dresses to a second closet
A note to share: I hadn't worn any of the clothes above in a couple of years. Why I hadn't thrown them out earlier, I don't know. Must be a pack rat thing. Then I moved to the shelf above the closet and hawled down everything that I had stored up there. I found and discarded or moved to a new location,
  • 2 summer tops
  • 1 t-shirt
  • 1 wrap-around skirt
  • 1 sweatshirt
  • belt
  • night shirt
  • a summer hat
At the completion of the shelf clearing, I found myself with items I had completely forgotten about or thought that I had lost. I also had a lot more room to work with. Items could now be rearranged and I could see at a glance what I had, and what I was short of. My closet doesn't look like the same closet anymore. My trousers are all hanging together, the same for my skirts, which are now hanging according to length. My dresses are now hanging together and I have even hung accessories to go with each outfit in little bags, attached to the hanger. Getting dressed has just been cut down to minutes! Next on my list... my dresser. I'm sure I will be equally surprised at what I find there. Now its' your turn. Take a few minutes and clear out the items that you haven't worn in some time. They say that if you haven't worn them in two years, you probably won't in the future. Fling them and then enjoy the new found space in your closet.
