Hitting The Closet
A little background...

When was the last time you really took a look at the condition of your closet? It's been a while, so I think it's time to take a look at mine... with a critical eye. A very critical eye. Having just returned from a holiday, I found that there simply was no room left in the closet and, to make matters worse, the bags were still full.

Short of stuffing them in, I decided to look at just what was in there. It wasn't a pretty site. Being a pack rat, I found shoes that I had purchased years ago and hadn't worn because they were out of fashion. So why was I saving them? Just in case... And that went for a dress that I had purchased for a funeral 5 years ago. I hate the dress but I was saving it. Just in case... The same goes for a selection of t-shirts, summer clothing, jeans that I might be able to squeeze back into if.... and so on. I think you get the idea.

So, I think I have come up a solution to my closet. I'm going to stop collecting clothes. If I buy something new, I'm going to check in the closet for something that can be tossed. It's really going to hurt because I'm just not like that but in the long run, I think I will be happier with the results. Just ask me this time next year.

And just in case I haven't convinced you to have a look at your own closet, I have found some great links that will convince you. It will make a difference not only in your closet, but in your entire house.

"Hitting the Closet" continues as a two-parter with details on just how well I did. You can find out for yourself by Clicking Here.
