Checking Your Soap's PH Level

The body soap that you are using might not be as compatable to your skin as you might think. Your skin has a pH of 5.5. You want a soap that is as close to that number as possible. Most soaps contain varying amounts of lye (an alkaline substance) and a high amount can damage the acid mantle (or protective layer that hold in moisture.) Litmus paper can tell you exactly what the pH level of your soap is.
