Computer Beauty Tips (We recommend that you consult your own physician regarding specific problems. These answers are for general informational purposes only.)

Question: "Is the CRT monitor or the LCD monitor better for your eyes? Is there any difference?"

Answer: "Active martix LCD technology (sometimes called TFT) has become the standard for high-end notebooks. Each pixel is individually controlled and, therefore, there is no bleed-over of any kind, i. e. perfect sharpness. The trouble with the LCD is first, it is not bright. If your lighting conditions are not perfect (soft lighting, no glare, no windows nearby), video (CRT) is really better. LCD IS getting brighter, though. The second trouble with LCD is that it is very expensive per square inch of screen.

Eyestrain is one of many problems of the computer workstation. LCD is superior if your lighting doesn't glare into your screen. Just remember that it is more expensive."
