My Shampoo Picks

If you have ever walked down an aisle at the supermarket or your neighborhood drugstore, you know just how many shampoos are available. And then there are the shampoos that are only available on-line. How do you choose? Well, for this article, I am letting you in on a little secret. I don't have one favorite, I have five to tell you about. My hair seems to like variety so to keep it happy, I alternate my shampoos on a regular basis. It is important to remember that the shampoo that I use might not be right for your hair, but you never know. Word of mouth is a great way to learn about a new product.

Here's what works for me.

The Mane Solution Shampoo
To start, I loved the smell. It was very fresh and the amount that I had to use, was about the size of a quarter. It lathered up well and rinsed easily. I noticed that it contained an ingredient that I wasn't familiar with. This shampoo contains squalene. A little research told me that this ingredient helps to build protein and keratin which gives you shine and body. It is safe for all hair types including color-treated. An eight ounce bottle will last you a very long time.

Balm of Zarahemla Shampoo Bars
Yes, this is a real shampoo in a bar form. All you have to do is rub some on your hand or directly to your hair. It lathers up into up a rich lather, rinses clean and leaves your hair feeling soft. If you are tired of bottles taking up space in your bathroom or like me, always curious about something new, check out this company. And, if you are worried that you won't get the same amount of lather from a bar... believe it or not... you get more.

Herbal Essence
Now here is a shampoo that I have been hoarding for years! In the early 70's Clairol came out with an emerald green shampoo called Herbal Essence... not to be confused with Clairol's Herbal Essences! It's not the same shampoo!

The smell is absolutely heavenly and it has to be my favourite shampoo. Luckily for me, I just happened to find a bottle sitting on a store shelf last summer while visiting a friend in New York. It was the only one but, if there had of been more, I would have bought them too!

Equave Sun Nutritive Shampoo
I used this shampoo a lot during the summer. It is very gentle but does a great job of removing all of those products that you tend to use during the summer to care for your hair. It also takes care of salt and chlorine. It is available at most hairstyling salons.

Timotei Shampoo
My daughter loves this shampoo so much that I had to give it a try. The honey and chamomile scent lingers in your hair, it lathers up well and it keeps your hair from... being puffy. My daughter hates that! It works well for my hair to, so you see, what works well for one person can work well for another.
