All Calories are Not Created Equal

(story courtesy of Newstream)

March 2001 (Newstream) -- According to a study recently published in "The American Journal of Bariatric Medicine," study participants placed on a high-protein, meal-replacement diet lost twice as much weight and 30 percent more fat than dieters placed on a traditional, higher carbohydrate diet consisting of the same caloric intake.

According to Carlon Colker, M.D., one of the doctors who conducted the research, the participants who consumed a high protein meal replacement called Cytoplex experienced significant improvements in energy levels in addition to greater weight loss.

Dr. Colker says the study further proves the efficacy of a high-protein diet while simultaneously debunking traditional teachings that carbohydrates equal energy.
