What's Hot in May 2002
Just the Facts!

Each month I will be sharing some of the latest products to hit the shelves, but I would love to hear from you as well. As much as I would love to travel the world every week, my budget doesn't quite stretch that far, so I am relying on you to let me know what is happening where you live. I have provided a form at the bottom of the page, to make it easy for you.

What's Hot

This month we are looking at nail polish, lipstick, hair color, a great fragrance for men, sunless tanning products, sunglasses and a watches.

Toes:
Everything metalic. Revlon has some great colors that are perfect for summer. If you like blue, check out Tidal Wave.

Lips:
Red seems to be a very popular color this month. Lancome is offering a lipcolor that is powered to last called Rouge Attraction.

Dior also has a new red lipcolor and polish to match.

Bonus Tip: This question has been sent to me a number of times so I thought that I would talk about ... Red Lipstick. I find that mixing up my own shades work best for me. I have tried lots of reds and I find the same thing. The shade just isn't right for me, most of the time it is just too bright for my skin tones. So, I tried experimenting with some of the colors I have and found that adding a little brown to my red worked. It still looks red but it tends to tone down the brightness. Experiment a little. You will have tons of fun and create signature colors that are all your own. If you manage to make/mix up the perfect color for yourself and you don't want to continue mixing your own color, take a sample to the mall with you and find a red that is as close as possible to the shade that you created.

Maybelline has Wet Shine Diamonds in 12 shimmery colors. And pretty easy on the budget as well.

Shine is also extremely popular this month. L'Oreal has introducted Shinedelice a sheer shimmering lipcolor with vitamin C in eighteen juicy shades.

Hair:
Feria has a new multi faced color on the market for those of you who want to go blonde/blond for the summer. It's called Extra Bleach Blond.

Bonus Tip: The week before you color you hair, be sure to really condition the ends so that they don't absorb too much color during the process. The ends of your hair tend to be the most porous and have a tendency to really soak up color.

Fragrance:
The gentleman is back and Givenchy has the perfect fragrance for him. It's called Pour Homme. Stop by a fragrance counter and ask for a sample.

Sunless Tanning:
Lots of companies are scrambling to bring their products to your attention. Check out Bain de Soleil. This company cobines vitamins and botanicals om a non-greasy formula along with an SPF factor to protect you from burning.

Neutrogena is another company to check out. No waiting for their product to develop. They have included a bronzer so you have a tan... instantly.

Bonus Tip: Several companies are now including bronzers in their formulations so that you don't have to wait for the color to develop. Not only is your "tan" visible in minutes, the color of the product makes application is incredibly easy.

Sunglasses:
Silhouette has some great looking shades for summer that you should check out. If you are looking for something... a little French that doesn't require you hopping on a plane, check out the company on-line, or one of the 600 stores around the world. Morgan is well known for their trendy clothes and accessories.

Jewelry:
Are you looking for a sophisticated watch? Check out what Rado from Switzerland has to offer.
