Your Costume Drawer

After a few years of trying to come up with costumes on short notice, a friend made a suggestion that was brilliant. Apparently, she began putting together old pieces of jewelry, dresses that she wouldn't be caught dead in (and the such) in a drawer for her granddaughter to play dress up.

One year, she was invited to a Halloween party and her thoughts turned to this drawer and sure enough, some of her castaways made for a very interesting costume. Where else could you get away with a mint green gown with a strand of plastic brown beads and about a dozen old bracelets. Top that off with an interesting hat, and you are done.

If you don't have a costume drawer of your own, I suggest you get busy and go through your closet. I'm sure that there are some items destined for that drawer.
