How To Beyond Soap and Water

Unfortunately, some ignore their skin without even realizing it. Here are some of the things that you might be doing wrong.

Difficulty: N/A

Time Required: N/A

Here's How:

1.   No, you can't use the same anti-bacterial soap for your face that you use for your hands. Much too harsh. You need a cleanser that is formulated for your skin type. Believe it or not, I have seen this done. (See tip one)

2.   Is moisturizer something that only your sister, mom or wife uses? Believe it or not, your skin can dry out too. So how does it work?

3.   It seals in the moisture that your skin so desperately needs. It also takes away that dry feeling at the same time.

4.   Sunblock is another item you shouldn't be leaving the house without applying. It is the sun that ages your skin the fastest and if that isn't bad enough, the sun can also lead to skin cancer if it isn't protected.

5.   Diet isn't supposed to affect your skin, but I am one of the few who disagree. I have seen first hand accounts of what junk food can do to skin that is acne prone. Start slowly to cut out the junk food and replace it with healthier alternatives.

6.   While the sun is a huge issue, I think that stress is equally damaging. Research shows that of all the other problems caused by worrying, wrinkles is another biggie.

7.   While we are on the topic of food, if you are able to eat marmite, do so. It is incredibly good for your skin. Look for my article entitled "Marmite Soldiers"

8.   Sleep... it is something that I didn't bother with when I was younger. I had too much partying to do. Unfortunately I learned that this is when your body repairs itself and it's never too early to start.

9.   Try to get at least 8 hours, more if possible.

10.   Forget the sodas and drink more water. Sodas are empty calories, while water flushes out the system and plumps up the skin. If possible, 8 glasses a day is a good start.

Tips:

  1. What skin types do you have to choose from? Try dry, oily, sensitive or blemish prone.
