Quick Tip
Blow dry hair according to instructions. (If you need help with blow-drying, I have included a link How To Blow Dry Your Hairwith this article that offers the directions you will need.
Things You Need:
-a blow dryer that offers between 1200 and 1500 watts and is light enough to hold easily
-sectioning clips
-straightening balm if hair has curl
-heat protecting balm if straightening balm is not used (Revlon has a good one. -hairspray that will hold without -leaving hair crunchy
-large round brush
-a holder for the hair that will blend in with your hair color.
-fine hair pins (they should be fine enough to disappear into your hair)
-water misting bottle
-medium sized rollers
For this style, I will jump right into the particulars after the blow-drying has been completed.
1. After blow drying has been completed, your hair should be straight and silky. It now needs to be pulled up onto the top of your head and secured with a holder that will blend in with your hair color.
2. Mist the "ponytail" section of your hair.
3. Divide hair into multiple sections. See photo.
4. Wrap sections around medium sized rollers. Pin in place if necessary.
5. Allow to dry naturally, or use a bonnet style dryer.
6. Remove rollers and wrap each curl around your fingers. Pin curl in place.
7. Continue with the remainder of the rollers, loosening and arranging each curl and pinning in place. Use photo to help with placement of curls.
8. When last curl has been artfully arranged, mist with your favorite hairspray.
Additional Tips
*Summer Hair
The sun is hard on your hair, and if you want it to look healthy and shiny, be sure treat it to an intensive conditioning treatment about once a week throughout the summer months.
*Are You Using The Right Shampoo?
If you swim a lot, you should be using a shampoo that is formulated with this in mind. Chlorinated water can do some nasty things to hair. It can go from looking healthy and shiny to dry, brittle and dull.
*It Can Burn
And I'm not talking about your curling iron. That goes without saying, but the hot air blasting out of your blow dryer can do the same thing if you don't aim carefully. Think how sensitive you neck is and how badly a blast of hot hair can feel behind the ear.
