How To ... Just Dreaming: The Updo

Now's your chance to practice an updo that you and your best friend should be able to pull off in a snap. Actually, the two of you could follow the same directions and come up with a different style for each of you by simply varying the amount of curl, bang placement and accessories.

Difficulty: Easy

Time Required: na

Here's How:

1.   Wash and condition hair.

2.   Blot dry. Put hair into hot rollers. You are going to need a substantial amount of curl in your hair to begin.

3.   Slowly remove each roller and wind the curl around itself and pin in place. Don't worry about how it looks at the moment, each curl will be adjusted when you start the updo. For now, we want to hold the curls in place.

4.   Leave the curls pinned in place and concentrate on your makeup or whatever else needs to be done. This will help give the curls a while longer to set.

5.   Remove the pins holding the curls and let them gently fall. When all curls are loose, gather the curls at the crown and loop each one, combing each one if necessary for smoothness. Arrange the curl and pin securely in place... hiding the pin of course.

6.   Move on to the next curl, artfully arranging the curls as you see in the photo.

7.   When every curl has been pinned in place, spray the updo for additional hold.

8.   For a completely different look, tuck in "jewels", flowers, pins... what ever you wish to pull together your prom look.
