Summer is all pretty much over, but exciting things are happening in the beauty world. Here's what you need to know.

1) Eyes

You have a choice this month. You can go for the smoky look, using colors ranging from a sooty black to lavender. Or... the other trend is natural. This consists of neutrals to contour the eye. Remember that the eyes and lips are grabbing the attention this month... but not at the same time.

2) Lipstick

Colors are pretty intense, ranging from burgundy to berry tones. If these colors make you nervous, try applying the color with your fingertip. Revlon has a gorgeous color called Autumn Berry. It's a limited edition so grab it fast. For the neutral look, go for glosses.

3) Nails

Your hands are on view more than you might realize. Either give yourself a manicure or treat yourself to one. Popular colors this month include red, soft ballet shades and dark neutrals. Or if you want something just a little different, try chocolate/plum shades.

4) Mascaras

Lots of mascaras, all doing something different. Elizabeth Arden for natural looking lashes, Revlon Colorstay Extra Thick for sexy lashes. For mile long lashes, grab a tube of Maybelline Lash Expansion. Rimmel Exaggerate is the perfect choice for lashes that are bone straight. 5) Hair

Long bangs are still popular but there is lots of variation. they can long, layered or wispy. The choice is yours. Loose and sexy hair with lots of swing is very popular this month. To achieve this look, you can use hair wax, putty or volumizing sprays.

6) Skin

Dry skin is on the horizon so lets be ready for it. There are lots of inexpensive brands that will do the job. Head for the drugstore and look for Jergens Replenishing Lotion, Keri Deep Conditioning, Nivea Body Firming Lotion or Neutrogena Visibly Firm Body Lotion. You will be soft and silky before you know it.

7) Fragrance

Nothing simple about the fragrances hitting the shelves this season. You are going to find everything from fresh florals to exotic spices (my favorite) and even a few natural scents thrown in for good measure. And what are natural scents? How about a scent that smells like grass!

8) Foundations

The foundation that you are going to watch this month is has to look as if you aren't wearing anything! Companies are coming up with forumulas that mimic the look of your skin... matt/dewy.
