Cosmetic Reviews for October

Can you believe that it's the beginning of October already? That means more product reviews. Take a look at some that have come in and some that I have personally tried myself. It's a hard job but someone has to do it. ;)

Merle Norman Lip Pencil Plus in Mocha $14.00

Marleny would definitely recommend this product but did not say why.

Maybelline Express Makeup Foundation $6.99

Wendy recommends this foundation. She goes on to say that it glides on smoothly, blends easily, and lasts all day.

Bath and Body Works Foundation

My favorite brand of foundation is Bath and Body Works in Honey. It's smooth, light, and looks so natural, the only person who knows I'm wearing makeup is me. I overall love their cosmetics line and use as much of it as possible. My trick to putting on foundation and give it a natural look is to use a toner on my face, then moisturizer, and then the foundation. I always put it on lightly and it an upward, circular motion. Oil of Olay, Waterproof Mascara under $10.00

It's great especially if you have oily skin! It won't smudge under your eye like others. Your lashes look long, thick and plush. It wears great!!! It comes of when you wash your face with cleanser! No eye makeup remover needed.Highly recommended by A. A. Mariah

Love Clinique's SuperFit Foundation

It goes on light and natural, but covers amazingly well. I use it all the time as an on-the-spot concealer as well. Applies just as well with your fingers as it does with a sponge... Recommended by Stacy

Mac's Lip Glass

This month, I received a product review from Magdelene Teo. She goes into great depth describing colors and textures and I think that it makes a great addition to this month's selection of products.

Estee Lauder All Day Lipstick

This lipstick was a freebie that came with a bonus purchase. The color is gorgeous. It's called "Frosted Apricot" and is true to it's name... lasts a long time. If you find it a little dry, (I like a more moist texture) simply add a little lip balm and problem solved. The color though, is great. No playing around adding a little lighter or darker color to get it just right.

Avon Blush Stick

Another great product offering great colors. Actually, I emailed my order to our neighborhood Avon rep with my color choice but told her that I didn't want a blush that was "too pink." She emailed me back suggesting a different color, assuring me that if I didn't like the color, she would work with me until I found the perfect shade. Now, that is service. Fortunately, the color she chose for me was perfect. It's called "Romance" so be sure to check out this shade. It just might be perfect for you too. So what about the texture?? Very creamy and blends into your skin in seconds. A great deal!

Estee Lauder, "Go Pout"

I had read about this lipstick so just had to check it out. It is offered in about 10 shades and supposedly is able to plump up your lips. I asked the salesperson about this and she said that it has something to do with the irridescence of the formulation that bounces light off of your lips. The lipstick also contains vitamins C and E, ceramide and soybean extracts to keep lips nice and soft. Suggested retail price is about $15.00. Does it make your lips look fuller?? Well, maybe a little. It's a great illusion. Your lips aren't going to look as if they just received collagen injections but they sure will feel luscious. I picked "Berry Sexy" by the way!
