Who Is That?
Halloween Witch Makeup
I did a little looking to see if I could find a recipe to make face paint and I thought that I had found one. It looked easy enough and the ingredient were right in my kitchen. Unfortunately, I don't think that the author tested this recipe. It simply didn't work. I did notice that there are suddenly tons of Halloween makeup kits on the market so you could go that route or...you could simply see what you have in your own makeup collection. Now is the perfect time to use those colors that you might have grown tired of and then put them to use. I played around with a witch's face and it was very easy...
The Glamorous Witch
- I wanted a white face and simply purchased a foundation stick that was quite a bit lighter than I usually use. (Later I will use this color for highlighting or mixing with a darker shade to match my skin as winter sucks the color out of my *tan. If you want to go REALLY white, you could use a little cornstarch as powder.
- Lipsticks come in every shade imaginable. If you need blue or purple, I'm sure you can find it easily. Witchs can wear just about any color and still look glamorous.
- Mascara also come in every color of the rainbow. A sexy witch can play up their eyes with a little funky mascara. There is even a mascara on the market with sparkles. Now that would make for a great addition.
- Normal looking eyes, simply won't do. You need more of everything and that includes techniques that you have never tried before. Try elongating the eyes with shadows. This can be done by creating elaborate wings (at the outer corners of the eyes) with any dark shadow you decide to use. Purples, blues, silvers and blacks will all work. Keep playing with your makeup until you achieve the look that is perfect for you.
- Face powder can help set everything and you can use a translucent or colored face powder.
If you give a little thought to your Halloween face, you will probably find that it is the technique and not materials that will be the key. And one other little thing that occurred to me. Your face is probably already used to your regular line of cosmetics. You won't wake up in the morning to find that your skin didn't quite like the mystery makeup that you quickly bought around the corner.
* No, I did not intentionally try to tan... I simply have the kind so skin that tans the minute I step out the door... sunblock or no sunblock.
