More Costume Ideas!
With Halloween looming at the end of the month, I thought that I would devote the next four features to costumes and makeup! All it takes is a little imagination and a bit of time set aside! So, don't miss out on that party this year because you have nothing to wear. This year, you are going to be ready!
Dracula's Bride (Photo Right)
This costume was very simple to put together. I started with a black leotard and tights that I used to wear to aerobics class. I bought about five yards of cheap black nylon net to make a long skirt, veil, and sleeves. I used a simple gathering stitch for the veil and skirt and just tacked the sleeves onto the existing sleeve of the leotard at the top and used some black ribbon to tie them at the bottom. For my bouquet I had an old bridal bouquet that I had caught at a wedding many years ago so I spray painted it black. I was thinking that dead flowers would work nicely too. The wig was purchased from Garden Ridge for $6.00.
For my makeup I bought a cheap very pale shade of liquid foundation and added a tiny bit of green food coloring. I smeared this all over my face, neck and cleavage. I used a black liner to do my eyes and eyebrows very dark. I used a very deep red lipstick on my lips then outlined my lips with a dark brown pencil. The fangs are a nice touch but make it hard to talk or eat and drink if you are going to a party.
Thanks to Callie for this costume idea!

Question of The Week
My hands are rather large and I was wondering about nail lengths that would look good on me? ~ Olivia
Because larger hands usually have larger nail beds, I would go for a medium length. You will find that this length will look quite attractive. ~ sb :)
