I Hate It

Are you scared to death to try out a new style for fear that you will hate it? Even if this happens, there are lots of things that you can do while it grows out. But before you leave the salon with a horrible style, lets prevent it from happening in the first place.

How To Avoid Disaster

Do your research. Don't pick the closest salon and then choose the first available stylist.

There will be times however, when you have no choice but to start with a brand new stylist. If you find yourself in this predicament, your first cut should be something subtle. That will give you the perfect opportunity to see how the stylist works.

If you like what you see, make an appointment for a new style or update.

What to Do When It's Too Late

1. Ask the stylist to adjust the style to something you like, even if a few days have passed. He should be quite happy to do it for free. He, afterall, doesn't want to lose you as a client.

2. Give it a few days and see what happens. This actually happened to my daughter. She came home with a cut that didn't work for her at all... at least we thought. After a week of playing with the new style, it is perfect. Actually it looks better now than when she left the salon.

3. The growing out period isn't that long, but a wig just might be the answer. Actually, I have three of them. They are in different lengths and different colors. They are a priceless when I have somewhere to go and my hair is putting up a fuss.
