Getting Rid of the Goo

Lets face it, most of us like our hair goo. The reason is that it simply makes our hair do some amazing things that it usually doesn't want to do. Unfortunately, there is a downside to goo and it is called "build up". So this week, we are going to look at some ways to remove the goo... until it's time to apply more.

One of the easiest ways to get rid of it when you don't have time to shampoo, is to sprinkle your hair with cornstarch. Massage it into your tresses and then gently brush out. Your hair should be good for a day or so.

When you do have a little extra time for shampooing, your favorite formulation should do a decent job. The problem that most people learn the hard way, is that they don't rinse long enough. Not only is a lot of the goo still there, now you have shampoo residue as well. So, be sure to rinse thoroughly followed by a little conditioner. Your hair needs all the help it can get!

When you need to deep clean your hair, choose a clarifying shampoo. The difference between a clarifying shampoo and a regular shampoo is simply that the clarifying variety is more acid-based. As it is a little harsher than regular shampoo, try not to use it more than once a month or so.
