Keep Those Nails

Little ways to make them last

With our busy lives, it seems harder and harder to keep pretty nails... looking pretty. There are simply so many things that can ruin your efforts. This week, I have chosen some easy tips to help you protect the nails that you have been working so hard to grow.

No Rubber Gloves Unless...
Use cotton lined rubber gloves instead of plain rubber gloves that will make your hands sweat. Your nails don't like the moisture created.

Cuticle Help
The best time to push back your cuticles is right after you get out of the shower. Good for the toes too.

Make it Last
To make your polish last and last, take a cotton bud dipped in polish remover and run it over the nail surface to pick up any trace of oil or lotion. Nail polish doesn't adhere to a surface that isn't perfectly clean..

Just Enough
Dip the brush into the polish bottle and then drag it across the mouth of the bottle to remove excess. That generally gives me just enough polish for one nail.

Don't Lend
Don't lend your emery boards. At salons, it's the law in some states that they must be disinfected between clients. Must be a good reason!

Massage and Relax
Massage your hands with a little olive oil while watching tv to help soften the cuticles and prevent cracking.
