Facial Exercises... Good Idea Or What?
What You Need To Know
This week I want to draw your attention to a little area of the beauty field that is somewhat contradictory. On a recent trip to the bookstore, I have found several books that have been published on facial exercises -- both for and against. So which is it to be?In one book that I picked up this week, we are instructed to push your fingertip up and against the brow bone. This supposedly will lift the eye area. Another book in favor of facial exercises promises superb cheekbones if we pucker up in an exaggerated kiss while holding back the skin at the corners of the mouth. Repeating this action numerous times apparently will give us full lips and great cheekbones.
And yet another book suggests that if we have droopy eyelids, we are in luck. We can fix them by stretching the eyelids upward and outward for several seconds a day. There seems to be exercises for everything from our eyes right on down to the chicken necks that yes, we can firm up.
Unfortunately, there are an equal number of books that are saying not to exercise these facial muscles that, in fact, it is the exercising of these muscles during everyday living that has contributed to the little lines showing up in the first place. We are told that our lines/wrinkles come from repeated movement of the face in this area. Same goes for the crowsfeet around our eyes. We are instructed to gently apply our makeup and not to pull or drag our skin. Does this not apply anymore?
Who do you believe and do you want to take a chance?
**And, facial exercises apparently take some time to become effective. That means repeated movement of these muscles before you see results. And, who is to say what the results are going to be?
The Readers Thoughts
It's a toss up! It may firm the face and yet if it makes you make faces and you see your face creasing as you do it... seems to me then you may be causing some wrinkles too.

I don't know. I would think they would work. You work out to get your legs fit so I guess you face would to.
Angela
I don't think so. Just like your body, it makes you more flexible.
Casey
I think facial exercises definitely work. I've done some for my chin and it tightens it up.
Theresa
They give you wrinkles.
Georgi
Not sure, have heard both arguments.
