Exercise Mistakes You Could Be Making

Do these sound familiar?

We all know that we need to work in a substantial amount of exercise into our daily lives, but did it ever occur to you that we might be causing more harm than good. Here are some of the most common mistakes.

1. Simply not getting enough. A leisurely stroll around the block is good for your stress level and in itself a healthy thing to do, but don't it expect it to burn many calories.

2. If you have specific areas of the body that ache, ie the neck or back, be careful of the exercises you do that target these areas. If there is a trainer available, it might be a very good idea to discuss your concerns with him.

3. One of the biggest mistakes is forgetting or ignoring your warm-up. Stretching is a great way to begin any fitness session. It lets you know quickly, which areas are tight and which ones are limber. It is equally important to cool down after your session.

4. Wearing the worng clothes. If you enjoy the treadmill, you won't want to wear clothing that rubs against you when you move. Wearing layers is also a good idea. When you heat up, and it always happens, you can remove layers quickly and easily.

5. Don't take on more than you can handle. I have noticed a lot of women watching other women and feel embarrassed at how little weight they can lift. So, to fit in, they try to compete with others and take on more than they can handle. Start with your own goals and master those, not someone elses.
