Your Personal Diet

Quick Tip

If I'm not motivated to stay with something, chances are I'm going to "fall off the wagon" regardless of my best intentions. So, while watching my waistline, I came up with these little tricks to keep me... motivated.

Start going through the diet magazines and books you have on hand and start collecting a list of all the diet foods you actually like. It will be much easier to stick to a "diet" if these foods are actually on it.

Personally, I love smoothies. They are the closest thing to a milkshake that is actually good for you. Haven't tried one yet? They are so popular that there are entire cookbooks on the topic. And if you do a search of my site, you will find some of my favorite recipes.

I also prefer raw veggies over cooked, so I keep a small covered container on the counter full of chopped veggies. Guess what I reach for the minute a snack attack occurs? Call me lazy, but if something is already prepared, there is nothing for me to do. Grabbing a handful of raw beans or sugar peas works every time. The next week, I choose different vegetables, so I never get bored. And if you think about it, what could motivate you more to stay on your "diet" than by eating things that taste good.
